SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A victim was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after police say they were stabbed while on a Greyhound bus.

According to San Diego Police, the stabbing took place along northbound Interstate 5 at Genesee Avenue.

Police say around 12:30 p.m., two men who were picked up in San Ysidro, got into a fight.

A 35-year-old man then stabbed a 27-year-old man several times. After the victim yelled for help, the bus driver tried to pull over, causing a two-car crash.

After pulling the bus onto the side of the road, the driver was able to push the suspect out of the bus.

The suspect then ran east up a hill before being caught by officers in front of Thornton Hospital. The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police say.
