San Diego gas hits lowest price since May 2009

SAN DIEGO -- The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped Tuesday to its lowest amount since May 6, 2009, decreasing 1.5 cents to $2.374.
  
The average price has dropped 47 of the past 48 days, decreasing 68.9 cents, including six-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
  
The average price is 13.3 cents less than one week ago, 44.2 cents lower than one month ago and 65 cents below what it was one year ago.
  
The average price decreased for 24 consecutive days, was unchanged Jan. 31, then resumed dropping Feb. 1.
