SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego County Registrar of Voters released final election results Thursday, with one race separated by just three votes.
The top two candidates in the San Diego City Council races will move on to the November ballot. In District 8, Vivian Moreno was the leader with 5,327 votes. But just three votes separate the second and third place finishers, Antonio Martinez and Christian Ramirez, with 4,087 to 4,084 votes respectively.
Martinez released a statement which read in part, “Our grassroots campaign is just getting started and I’m excited to keep meeting with working families in every part of our district as we move forward to the November election.”
10News reached out to Ramirez, who said he is not sure if he will pay for a recount.
The voter turnout for the June 5 primary election was 39.8 percent, with 673,640 ballots cast out of 1,693,774 registered voters.
