SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The end of the school year is quickly approaching, and that means the beginning of a new school year is on the horizon.
That means thousands of parents throughout San Diego County will be online searching for the best schools, teachers and districts.
Education reporting website Niche has released their annual list of best elementary schools in the region.

Hundreds of elementary schools made this year’s list. Many of this year’s top school districts were in the Poway Unified School District. The top 16 schools on the list were located in the district.

Niche ranks schools based on test scores, student-teacher ratio, student diversity, teacher quality, grade school ratings and the overall quality of the district.
