SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A registered sex offender was arrested Thursday after police say he committed lewd acts at a hotel pool on Harbor Island.
On July 3, Harbor police responded to a report of a man that was harassing children in the pool area of the Sheraton Hotel and Marina on the 1300 block of Harbor Island Drive.
After arriving, officers learned that the man performed a lewd act on a child under 14.
The suspect, later identified as Douglas Richard Madruga, 66, was confronted by hotel security before fleeing the scene.
Madruga was arrested Thursday on two felony counts of performing a lewd act on a child under 14 and two felony counts of harassing or molesting a child under 18.
Harbor Police also searched the suspect's house and seized several items.
