SANTEE, Calif. (KGTV) - A Louisiana-based fast-food chain known for its Southern fried chicken fingers opened its first San Diego County location Tuesday.
The first Raising Cane’s restaurant in the county -- located at 8867 Cuyamaca Street in Santee -- officially opened to the public at 9 a.m.
Santee Mayor John Minto and members of the city’s Chamber of Commerce were among the guests who took part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Prior to the grand opening, the restaurant opened a drawing in which 20 customers could win free Raising Cane’s food for a year.
Right as doors opened at 9 a.m., the restaurant gave the first 100 paying, dine-in customers age 13 and older a free Cane’s T-shirt and a coupon for a free Cane’s Box Combo for their next visit. A Box Combo consists of four chicken fingers, Texas toast, Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, fries and a drink.
