Rabbi hit by vehicle crossing street in Chula Vista

CHULA VISTA (KGTV) -- A man was transported to the hospital Monday night after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the street.

Authorities say Rabbi Michael Samuel was heading to synagogue when he was hit near 2nd Avenue and Madrona Street.

He had just parked his car and was crossing the street when he was hit. Paramedics surrounded the Rabbi, who was talking and alert but bleeding from a head wound. 

Police tell 10News Rabbi Samuel was crossing at a poorly lit intersection and wearing dark clothing. The driver stayed on scene. She is not facing any charges.
