SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KGTV) -- California may become the nation’s first state to offer parents six months paid leave, according to KRON.

The new legislation was introduced recently at the Capitol, but lawmakers still don’t know how the state will pay to keep parents home.

The bill was sponsored by the California Lawmakers Association and would also offer job protection to parents.

California’s Small Business Chamber hasn’t yet taken a position on the proposal until more finding details become available.
