CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Police are searching for the driver who crashed into a motorcyclist this week and left them to die at the scene.
Chula Vista Police said the collision occurred in the 2400 block of Main Street just after 2 p.m. Monday. A motorcyclist was traveling eastbound when they collided with a tan- or gold-colored Ford Explorer.
The motorcyclist died at the scene, CVPD said. The driver of the SUV, dated as a late 90's or early 00's model, has not been identified.
The SUV fled and was last seen traveling westbound on Main St., then north on Industrial Blvd. CVPD said the vehicle will have damage to the driver's side and has been known to frequent the South Bay area, primarily Imperial Beach.
CVPD's traffic investigation unit is currently investigating.
