Man killed in Oceanside shooting

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - A shooting in an Oceanside neighborhood Monday morning left one person dead and prompted a search for the suspected shooter.

The shooting was reported shortly before 6:20 a.m. in an area near Calle Estrella and Calle Mariposa, according to Oceanside police.

Details on what led to the gunfire were not immediately available, but police confirmed an unidentified Hispanic man was shot in the stomach and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police noted that the shooting was not a drive-by.

Police said the suspected shooter, a Hispanic man in his 20s with a "skinny face", may have left the scene in a white Acura.
