Police say Ochoa placed the call to police that brought officers to the shopping center.

When they arrived on scene, police say Ochoa was armed with a knife he refused to drop despite repeated orders from police.

Less than lethal force was used on Ochoa after he refused the orders, according to authorities.

Police fatally shot Ochoa when they say he pulled out a black pistol later determined to be an air pistol.

Officer Johann Ravesi a 14-year veteran, Officer Billy Walker a 2-year veteran and Officer Dustin Schmidt a 4-year veteran were all placed on administrative duty after the shooting and have since returned to work.
