VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A driver crashed into two pedestrians Friday, resulting in the death of one man.
The male driver in his twenties was speeding north in the 1500 block of South Melrose Drive, just past Shadowridge Drive, when he lost control of the vehicle and hit the joggers just before 6:30 p.m., according to San Diego Sheriff's Deputy Jennifer Albright.
After striking the joggers, the vehicle collided with a light pole and came to a rest. The driver is believed to have been driving while under the influence, Deputy Albright said.
The male jogger died at the scene, his wife and the driver of the car were taken to Palomar Medical Center with serious injuries.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
