In Oak Park, many drivers are a bit more anxious these days. On the prowl, a gas thief who may be eyeing a specific target.
Along 52nd Street on Monday morning, Frank Browne woke up and found the gas doors and caps open on the side of his truck, a pool of gas below it.
Someone had siphoned out some 12 gallons.
When Browne posted his ordeal on the Nextdoor app, at least 3 neighbors reported similar thefts in the past week. All of the vehicles hit were trucks. All but one were Ford trucks.
