SANTA ANA, Calif. (KGTV) -- California officials say the couple found in Joshua Tree National Park after they went missing three months ago were found locked in an embrace, according to CNN.

"Based on evidence located at the scene, detectives believe Orbeso shot Nguyen, then shot himself," said the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

Officials say the gun found near the bodies was registered to Orbeso. Rachel Nguyen and Joseph Orbeso has been missing for almost three months after the pair went missing while on a hike in the desert park. Their bodies were discovered on October 15.
