Man shoots firework at police after Mexico victory over Germany in World Cup

SAN DIEGO -- A man shown in a video shooting a firework at Huntington Park police after Mexico’s Victory over Germany in the World Cup Sunday has been arrested, according to KTLA.

Jose Alberto Martinez, 39, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, the police department said.

The incident happened at the intersection of Florence Avenue and Pacific Boulevard in Huntington Park, according to KCAL. 

Video shows the man running into the middle of the street and bending down before launching the large firework at police, who had formed in a line after the celebration got out of control.

Other videos posted on social media show cars doing doughnuts in the street as large crowds gathered around.
