SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man was arrested Monday on suspicion of intentionally setting two fires outside of a City Heights building.

The fires were reported just after 9 a.m. next to a building in the 4100 block of 46th Street, according to San Diego police.

Police said an unidentified man set a trash can next to the building on fire, and then set a bag of clothes on fire.

Residents notified authorities and quickly doused the flames before firefighters arrived.

Meanwhile, the man was spotted by police a short distance from the scene and was pursued by officers.
