An eight-inch diameter water main break early Sunday cut off water to 16 residents and temporarily closed streets nearby in Sorrento Valley, a city spokesman said.
The incident was reported at 3:10 a.m. at the intersection of Sunny Side Way and Sorrento Valley Road, according to Arian Collins, city supervising public information officer.
"Water was shut down at 4 a.m.," Collins said. "Sixteen residential customers were without water."
Collins estimated repair work would be completed, and water would be restored to affected customers, by 1 p.m.
