SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) -- A woman hit by a truck in San Ysidro Tuesday night had to be revived after her heart stopped.

According to authorities, the incident happened at 5 p.m. at the intersection of San Ysidro Boulevard and Olive Drive.

The woman was reportedly crossing the street when a truck turned right, striking her.

The woman was taken to the hospital when authorities say her heart briefly stopped before she was revived by medical staff.

“At the time of the collision, it didn't seem like she had very much in the way of injuries, some scrapes and bruises and things like that,” Lt. Andra Brown, of the San Diego Police Department, said. “But they took her to the hospital as a precaution, While she was in the hospital, she had cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated, and now they're treating her for some head injuries as well.”

The driver remained at the scene.
