ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) -- The possible first baby born in 2020 in San Diego County was came into the world just 60 seconds after the New Year.
Tatum Faith Perry made her way into the world at 12:01 a.m. on New Year’s Day at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido.
Baby Tatum weighed in at a healthy 8 pounds, 6 ounces.
Parents Wendi and Kevin Perry thought their baby would be one of the last ones of the decade, as Wendi's due date was Dec. 31, 2019.
The Valley Center family made their way to the hospital on New Year’s Eve at 3 p.m. so mom could be induced, but baby Tatum decided she would wait for the new decade to make her grand entrance.
The second baby of the year was born just a minute later at 12:02 a.m.
Both mom and baby are doing well and will go home Thursday.
