SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego State student walking near the campus early Thursday morning was assaulted and robbed by two men.

Campus police said the incident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. near 55th Street and Lindo Paseo, a short distance from the SDSU Sports Deck.

The student was crossing the street when a car passed him, made a U-turn and then pulled up next to him.

According to the student, two men wearing masks got out of the car and attacked him. The men grabbed the student’s gym bag and then drove off in what was described as a gray car.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries to his face.

A detailed description of the attackers was not available because the victim’s glasses were knocked off during the assault.
