SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A Shelltown family is asking for answers after their loved one was shot and killed early Saturday morning.

San Diego police responded to multiple calls of gunshots just after 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 5. When officers arrived, they found a 56-year-old man and a 49-year-old man with gunshot wounds.

The 56-year-old man is in critical but stable condition and is expected to survive. The 49-year-old victim died at the hospital.

While police have not officially identified either victim, family members told 10News the 49-year-old was Ricardo "Richie" Moran.

Moran's brother told 10News that Moran was expecting another grandchild in two weeks and his son is getting married in three weeks.

Now, the Moran family is planning a funeral service. The family set up a GoFundMe page to help with the unexpected expenses.

Police said witnesses heard a car speed away after the gunshots, but they did not get a description of the car.

Police did not have any information on the suspected shooter.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact San Diego police.
