Several San Diego County cities among best places to live in California for 2019, study shows

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Several San Diego County cities are among the top 100 places to live in all of California for 2019, a new study shows.

ChamberOfCommerce.org examined 2,509 California cities (with populations over 25,000) and ranked each based on the following factors:

-- Employment (number of establishments, median earnings)
-- Housing (owner-occupied housing with a mortgage, monthly housing costs)
-- Quality of life (work commute, poverty levels)
-- Education (percentage of bachelor’s degree or higher)
-- Health (obesity ratios)

These San Diego County cities placed in the top 100:

-- Poway (No. 19)
-- Santee (No. 20)
-- Carlsbad (No. 22)
-- Encinitas (No. 35)
-- La Mesa (No. 57)
-- San Marcos (No. 68)
-- Oceanside (No. 75)
-- Vista (No. 82)
-- Lakeside (No. 88)
-- Spring Valley (No. 89)
-- Lemon Grove (No. 90)
-- El Cajon (No. 95)

So which cities are considered California’s most livable? Santa Clara tops the list, followed by Aliso Viejo, Santa Barbara and Lompoc, with South Lake Tahoe rounding out the top five.
