RAMONA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Authorities are searching for a person suspected in a deadly shooting in Ramona Thursday morning.
The shooting was reported just before 6 a.m. in the 600 block of Pine Street, San Diego County sheriff's officials said. The reporting party told deputies they found a man on the ground in front of a neighboring home.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital but did not survive. The man was not identified.
Details on what led to the shooting remain unclear, but a sheriff’s official told ABC 10News the incident is being investigated as a homicide.
With deputies searching on the ground, a law enforcement helicopter hovered over the area and announced a search for a male wearing a black hoodie. Drones were also used as part of the search.
Deputies blocked state Route 78, between Olive Street and Haverford Road, due to the search.
The manhunt was still underway as of 10:25 a.m.
