School briefly locked down after shots fired near SDSU

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego school was briefly locked down after shots were fired near the school Monday afternoon.

According to San Diego Police, officers responded to the 5100 block of Ewing Street near San Diego State University after 1 p.m. to investigate reports of shots fired.

Due to the investigation, the nearby Language Academy was briefly placed on lockdown.

Witnesses say they heard five or six shots being fired. Police also found a small amount blood in the area, but no victim was located.
