Outage affects thousands in San Diego as temperatures drop

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Thousands of people were left without power in several San Diego neighborhoods Wednesday night as temperatures dipped down into the low 40s.

According to the San Diego Gas & Electric outage map, more than 3,600 customers were affected by the outage, which started just after 7 p.m.

Neighborhoods affected included Logan Heights, Mountain View, Lincoln Park, Encanto, Emerald Hills and Valencia Park.

By 9 p.m., power to most of the areas was restored, with SDG&E saying power to the remainder of customers would be restored by 10 p.m.

At 8:30 a.m. Thursday, the SDG&E outage map showed power was expected to be restored for those still affected by 9 a.m.

The cause of the outage is unknown at this time.
