CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) — Village Elementary is working to notify anyone who may have had contact with a staff member who tested positive for the coronavirus.
In a letter to parents on Sunday, principal Heidi Bergener wrote that the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency confirmed that a staff member had contracted COVID-19 and that the county is in the process of investigating and monitoring the individual.
Anyone who has come into contact with the staff member will be notified by the Coronado Unified School District nurse with instructions to self-quarantine, Bergener's letter said.
"Due to what we know at this time about how COVID-19 spreads, public health officials have indicated that all of us should consider ourselves as being potentially exposed," Bergener said in the letter.
The name of the staff member was not provided due to privacy laws.
Anyone with questions was asked to call the District Nurse at 619-972-8528.
