SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Fire crews were able to shut off a hydrant after a car crash sent water spewing into the air for several hours.
According to San Diego Fire-Rescue, a car crashed into the hydrant on 10th Avenue and A Street around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Water to the hydrant was shut off around 6 a.m.
The water shot nearly 80 feet into the air, spilling thousands of gallons of water onto the street.
Video shows people trying to get to their cars. The streets were reopened later Sunday morning.
