San Diego makes vacant properties available amid expected surge in COVID-19 cases

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The City of San Diego is offering all available vacant city property to accommodate an expected surge in coronavirus patients.

The announcement was made shortly after county officials announced an additional 115 COVID-19 cases throughout San Diego County.

Mayor Kevin Faulconer also took the opportunity to urge San Diegans to stay home in an effort to stop the spread of the virus.

So far, 15 people throughout the county have died due to COVID-19 and 849 people have tested positive as of Wednesday afternoon.
