SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — More than 5,000 people helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the San Diego Humane Society Saturday.
The animal rescue's annual Walk for Animals event drew in nearly $300,000 — money that will help the rescue continue providing its animal services across the county.
The morning's festivities included a pancake breakfast, a scenic two-mile walk, doggie activities, live music, and a variety of vendor booths.
Since SDHS came into care of the county's Animal Control Services, the agency says it will care for about 50,000 animals at its locations this year.
