SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A group of San Diego caterers came together Tuesday night to feed the people that usually keep their businesses running, their own employees.
Caterers United, includes 12 catering businesses, representing roughly 3,000 employees. The group decided they would show their employees how much they're appreciated by giving them a free, warm meal to enjoy at home.
The donation happened at the Julep Venue. Employees pulled up to the parking lot and volunteers put their food in the trunks of their cars.
Unlike the restaurant business, the catering industry is almost completely shut down because of the California's stay-at-home order.
The group says they planned this meal to show their employees they were valued and to help anyone that might be struggling due to not being able to work at the moment.
