SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The San Diego Police Department released a sketch of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman Saturday night in City Heights.

According to police, at around 6:30 p.m., the victim entered the alley of 3500 Van Dyke Avenue to throw away trash. The victim placed the trash in the Dumpster on the south end of the parking lot and was grabbed from behind, according to police. The suspect used one hand to grab the victim around the neck and used his other hand to hold a knife to the victim's face, police said.

The suspect forced the victim to walk a short distance, and then sexually assaulted her. He left running southbound through the alley.

The suspect is described as a black male, 25-35 years old and about 6 feet tall with an average build. He reportedly had long dreadlocks, which came down to his chest, a well-groomed goatee, and a possible earring in his left ear. The victim said the suspect smelled of cigarette smoke and had a very deep voice. At the time, he was wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.

This is the second sexual assault SDPD is investigating in San Diego this weekend. On Sunday, a woman was sexually assaulted in Ocean Beach. That suspect is also still on the loose.

Anyone with information on the identity or location of the suspect is asked to call the SDPD's Sex Crimes Unit at (619) 531-2210 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
