Police arrest man suspected of biting Hillcrest restaurant worker

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The man suspected of biting a Hillcrest restaurant employee was arrested Friday blocks from the scene of the attack, San Diego Police said.

Bruno Souza, 40, was taken into custody just after noon in the 300 block of Washington Street, according to SDPD Sgt. Michael Stirk.

Police had been searching for a man who entered the Pho Fifth Avenue Vietnamese restaurant at 9 p.m. Wednesday and behaved erratically.

The restaurant worker escorted the man from the restaurant, but the man bit the employee’s forearm.

“We know a vein was hit,” said SDPD Lt. Andra Brown, commenting on the significant amount of blood that was left on the sidewalk.

The employee was taken to the hospital for his injuries. There is no word on his condition.

Souza was arrested for Aggravated Mayhem and Assault with force to cause great bodily injury.
