EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on an El Cajon street Thursday morning, prompting an investigation that closed a stretch of busy roadway.
At around 5:30 a.m., El Cajon police responded to reports of a person hit by a pickup truck in the 1000 block of Johnson Avenue.
Details on what led to the collision were not immediately available, but police confirmed that the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene for questioning, 10News learned.
Due to the investigation, Johnson Avenue was closed between Vernon Way and Fesler Street. The closure was expected to last several hours.
