Naval Base Point Loma locked down for several hours

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Naval Base Point Loma was locked down late Thursday night, but military officials did not immediately release any information on what led to the security procedure.

10News learned the base on 140 Sylvester Rd. was put on lockdown at around 11:45 p.m., with no one allowed to enter or leave the military installation.

Military police presence was increased on the base during the lockdown.

10News learned the lockdown was lifted at around 4 a.m. Friday, but officials did not immediately respond to 10News' request for comment on what prompted the situation.
