JULIAN, Calif. (KGTV) -- A mudslide shut down a portion of SR-79 in Julian as rain continued to soak San Diego County Monday night.

According to California Highway Patrol, eastbound SR-79 near Wynola Road was closed after the mudslide was reported.

CHP said in a tweet that the agency expects the road to be shut down for one to two hours. CHP implemented one-way traffic control in the area to allow cars to pass.

The agency said Caltrans will work to remove the debris and clear the roadway.
