VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (KGTV) - The death of a man whose body was found inside a Valley Center home is being investigated by sheriff’s homicide detectives.
According to San Diego County sheriff’s officials, a woman requested a welfare check on her son at a home in the 28000 block of Lake Wohlford Road, just north of Valley View Casino, at around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Deputies arrived at the home and found 59-year-old Andrew Billeci dead inside. According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner, Billeci died of gunshot wounds.
The cause of death was determined to be homicide.
During a search of the home, investigators found “explosives and unknown chemicals,” prompting a call to the sheriff’s Bomb/Arson Unit and a hazardous materials team.
Following an examination, it was determined the items did not pose a danger to the public.
