SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A blaze burned large piles of plastic and bundles of cardboard at a recycling center in the Miramar area, but no structures were damaged, authorities said.

The non-injury fire was reported around 8:20 p.m. Sunday at Allan Company on Consolidated Way just off Miramar Road, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

Firefighters responded to the scene and found piles of plastic and bundles of cardboard ablaze.

The tightly packed materials proved difficult to extinguish, but crews knocked down the flames around 9:30 p.m., a fire dispatch supervisor said.

No structures at the recycling center were damaged.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
