CHULA VISTA (KGTV) - A vehicle fire spread to surrounding brush and threatened a town home complex near the intersection of I-805 and Telegraph Canyon Road in Chula Vista, authorities said on Sunday.
Chula Vista Fire Department responded to the scene of the fire around 2:40 in the afternoon and crews continued to to mop up the fire throughout the afternoon.
No one was evacuated from surrounding residences and no injuries were reported.
One resident spoke about how quickly the fire moved.
"It was very frightening," Barbara Armstrong, a resident who lived nearby said. "It accelerated very quickly."
She says that the other side of the fence is a conservancy, where brush is not allowed to be trimmed.
"I'm just thankful I still have a house," Armstrong said.
