CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A vehicle fire near a freeway off-ramp in Chula Vista spread to surrounding brush and briefly threatened a townhome complex Sunday afternoon.
At around 2:40 p.m., Chula Vista Fire Department crews were called to the Telegraph Canyon Road off-ramp from southbound Interstate 805 due to the vegetation fire.
The blaze charred about half an acre before firefighters put it out. Crews remained at the scene for at least an hour to put out hot spots.
No injuries were reported and no evacuations were needed.
