SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person died in a five-vehicle traffic collision at around 8:52 a.m. this morning, according to the San Diego Fire Department. Four others were transported to nearby hospitals for injuries.
The accident happened on the I-805 freeway near the Palm Avenue exit. California Highway Patrol officers said all lanes on the southbound 805 north of 43rd Street were blocked due to the collision.
By 2:20 p.m., the crash scene was cleared and the area reopened to traffic.
Update: SB I-805, north of 43rd, all lanes reopened to traffic.
