CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A gas line break that sparked evacuations in the South Bay Wednesday afternoon has been stopped.
According to crews, the gas line broke around 3 p.m. on the 2800 block of Main Street.
According to San Diego Gas and Electric, an employee at a recycling plant in the area punctured the gas line, causing the three-quarter inch line to break.

SDG&E was able to stop the line from spewing gas in the area just after 4 p.m.
Chula Vista residents were asked to avoid Broadway and Main Street in the area amid the leak.
