According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened on the 9900 block of Riverwalk Drive around 3:15 p.m.

Deputies say the 12-year-old was walking home from school when an unknown man drove up next to him in a newer model Ford F-150.

The man told the boy he was sent by his father to pick him up and told him to get in the truck.

The young boy’s parents told investigators that neither she or the boy’s father asked to have their son picked up.

The vehicle is described as a dirty, newer model, single cab white Ford F-150 with lifted black rims.
