NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after police said he crashed his car into a pole that displays the Mile of Cars sign in National City.
The solo vehicle crash happened at around 3:30 a.m. Friday in the 100 block of Mile of Cars Way, according to National City police.
Police said the circumstances that led to the collision were under investigation, but they noted the driver did not suffer any serious injuries in the wreck.
Following several field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, police told 10News.
The pole, on the street’s median, was not severely damaged.
