Deadly shooting in Sunset Cliffs area under investigation

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – San Diego Police homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left a 33-year-old man dead in Sunset Cliffs.

SDPD officials said officers were called to an area near the 4500 block of Ladera Street at around 11:25 p.m. Sunday regarding multiple reports of gunshots “and somebody yelling for help.”

Responding officers arrived to find a 33-year-old Black man with multiple gunshot wounds, and despite life-saving measures, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances that led to the shooting are unknown, but SDPD officials said detectives are looking for witnesses and collecting evidence as part of their investigation.

A description of the gunman was not available.
