SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several drivers had to be rescued due to rising water on some San Diego streets Monday morning.

Just after 6 a.m., San Diego Fire-Rescue crews were called to Pacific Beach Drive at Dawes Street to help a motorist whose car became stuck in rising water on the roadway.

Dispatchers said the flooding on Pacific Beach Drive street may have been caused by a water main break in the area, but as of 7:30 a.m., authorities did not confirm that a main break occurred.

Crews were able to safely assist the stranded motorist.

At around 6:40 a.m., crews were called to the 2500 block of Midway Drive to help a driver whose car became stuck on the flooded street.

That driver was helped out of the vehicle with the help of lifeguards.
