SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A 19-year-old man was taken to the hospital after being shot at a park in the Clairemont area, according to police.

San Diego police said the shooting was reported just before 10 p.m. Sunday at a park in the 4400 block of Bannock Avenue, near the Cathy Hopper Clairemont Friendship Center.

According to police, the victim was in the back of the park when someone shot him at least once in the abdomen.

The victim managed to walk to the front of the park, “where he was found and police were notified,” SDPD officials said.

The man was taken to the hospital and was listed in stable but critical condition.

A description of the suspected shooter was not available.

Several witnesses reported hearing at least six gunshots and a black vehicle, possibly a Ford Fusion, leaving the scene following the gunfire.
