MIRA MESA - Police said Thursday that a driver violating the right of way led to a serious injury accident in Mira Mesa.
A 24-year-old female was driving eastbound on Calle Cristobal approaching Thomas Hayes Lane just after 4 p.m. Police said as she attempted to turn northbound on Thomas Hayes Lane, she violated the right of way and struck a 1991 Honda Accord.
The woman suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Honda suffered a compound fracture and was transported to a local hospital.
Police said neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor. Traffic Division officers are currently investigating the incident.
