CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- It started with a mom getting a heart-stopping call. Early Tuesday evening, Angel Llamas learned a driver leaving a Chinese restaurant on 3rd Avenue, hit her 15-year-old son riding his bike, launching him over the hood and leaving him battered, bruised and bleeding.
According to her son Jonathan, the driver jotted down her information and hurriedly left the scene. Later, when Llamas tried to call her, it was a wrong number.
"(I thought) I'll call her and see if she's ok and let her know my son's ok," Llamas said.
Because she couldn't reach the woman via her telephone number, Llamas decided she was going to track down the address associated with it.
She says when she went to the home, it wasn't the same person. That's when the upset mom decided to play detective.
After a trip to the restaurant, Llamas says her son was able to identify the woman and the car in the surveillance video. Still, they haven't been able to find the driver.
"I just want her to know it's not ok," Llamas said. "Please come forward, that's it."
