FRESNO, Calif. (KGTV) - Fresno Police are asking the public for help identifying a woman found walking along a residential street.

Police said the woman was located on Millerton Road and Brighton Crest Drive, near Eagle Spring Gulf & Country Club. Police found the woman wet and mostly naked. She told police she had been in the water.

When asked her name, she claimed to be a mermaid and "Joanna." Police said she answered "I don't know" to most questions.

The woman is described as 5-foot-4, about 150 pounds, 16-30 years old, Caucasian and Hispanic, and with brown hair and brown eyes.

Fresno Police have turned the investigation over to the Fresno Sheriff's Department. They ask anyone with information regarding who the woman is to call the department at 559-600-3111.
