SPRING VALLEY, Calif. (KGTV) - A fire ripped through a Spring Valley home Monday night, leaving four people displaced but causing no known injuries.

The blaze broke out at about 11:45 p.m., likely in the area of a detached garage behind a home in the 8800 block of Milburn Avenue, according to fire officials.

Firefighters were able to knock down the flames after about an hour.

A resident told 10News she and her family heard a loud boom just before the fire erupted, leading her to believe the fire was set intentionally.

However, fire officials told 10News their preliminary findings did not point to arson but the investigation is ongoing.

The Red Cross is assisting the residents that were displaced.
