CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) - A blaze ripped through a Carlsbad home, leaving one woman to be airlifted to the hospital.
Carlsbad and Oceanside fire crews were called to the home in the 2900 block of Ridgefield Avenue shortly after 3 p.m. It took crews approximately 30 minutes to put down the blaze.
Before crews arrived, one of the home's occupants ran into the residence for unknown reasons. Two of her roommates, who were outside at the time, heard her scream and one ran in to pull her out.
The woman suffered moderate burns to her arm and hands and was transported to Calavera Park, where a medical helicopter was waiting to transport her to a UC San Diego Medical Center.

The cause of the fire is believed to be due to a candle, crews said. The bedroom the candle was in and a piece of the residence's attic was completely destroyed.
In all, the fire caused about $200,000 in damages to the home.
